Big success for Bangalore Police, 6 smugglers arrested with drugs worth 1 crore
Bengaluru: Six drug smugglers, including two Nigerian nationals, were arrested on Tuesday in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. Narcotics worth Rs 1.05 crore have been seized from their possession. Police said that two separate raids were conducted and the accused were arrested with ecstasy pills, MDMA, LSD, marijuana, cocaine and yaba.
In the first case, a police team raided a house in Yelahanka in the city. Drugs worth 55 lakh rupees were recovered from the spot here from one Nigerian and four people from Kerala. Giving information about the matter, the police said that the foreigner had come to India on a tourist visa and started engaging in illegal activities in the country. At the same time, in the second case, another Nigerian from Horamavu was arrested with a stockpile of narcotics worth 50 lakhs.
The police have said that the inquiry is going on regarding the matter. Earlier on Thursday, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, took major action against the drug mafia involving foreign nationals living in the city. CCB officials had raided the houses of foreigners living in different areas of the city. During this 38 foreign nationals were arrested.
